Day 211

7.31.09- What a beautiful day for a picnic. We spent the morning with friends at a park to let the kids run around and play and to enjoy a picnic. Our little outing made me realize a few things 1. It finally feels like summer to me. 2. Only one month of summer left! 3. We need to go on more picnics. 4. I'm very thankful I'm a stay at home mom so I can do things like this and fully enjoy summer with my child.

Day 210

7.30.09- It was so cold today. I'm not being a wimp either. it. was. cold. It only got to about 55 and it was overcast and rainy. Andrew and I called it a fall day and baked some pumpkin chocolate chip muffins with cream cheese frosting. The frosting was his idea and what a great idea it was. I love cream cheese frosting just about as much as him. Blake gets home tomorrow and he's in for a special treat. That is assuming there are any left.

Day 209

7.29.09- Na na na na na na na na na SUPERBATMAN!!! Here comes my little superhero. Little does he know I found THE coolest superhero cape/costume. It's being custom made just for him. He is going to freak when he gets it in a few weeks. It's actually for his birthday party. Yes, I realize his birthday is in 3 months but it's never too soon to start planning. Plus, I'll need to take pictures of him in his costume for the invites. :-)

Day 208

7.28.09 - Summertime. Playtime. Andrew spent more time in the backyard this evening playing water guns with Madison.

Day 207

7.27.09 - It's raining, it's pouring... We've had the most wet summer ever and we love it! The rain just makes everything fresh and new. Plus it cools everything down. Today's high? 70!! LOL it's the end of July! It's supposed to get into the 60's over the next few days. Yes, our high is in the 60's.

Did I ever mention how much I love the weather here in Colorado? Probably just a couple hundred times.

Day 206

7.26.09- no photo today! Instead I will be using our tickets and the Expedition Health print outs for our photo of the day.

We went to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. It was awesome!! They have an Expedition Health exhibit that was right up Andrew's ally. It was all about how the human body works and there were little stations you put this card into and it showed your heart rate, rhythm, height, arm span, stride length, etc. Then as you exit you get a card with all of the information about you printed out. Pretty cool! We spent the majority of our time in there and the Space area.

Day 205

Andrew. Right now.

LOVES: mac n cheese, corn on the cob, chicken nuggets, pb&j, milk, milk, milk, pancakes, marshmallows, transformers, swimmign, goign to the gym (child center - he BEGS to go), wrestling with daddy, baking with mommy, dinosaurs (can't wait for walking with the dinosaurs this weekend), edamame, playing with his playgroup pals, dressing up as any superhero, reading books, counting everything, riding his bike, our garden.

DISLIKES: Hmm.. soda, listening. (Really? I can't think of anything else? Andrew, you've always been an easy child.)

Age: 4 years 7 months

Day 204

7.24.09- Our garden is growing like crazy and we have so many little green tomatoes just sitting there on their little vines. Sitting there, just patiently waiting for the sun to turn them red and I'm patiently waiting to eat them.

Day 203

7.23.09- Yet again Andrew and Madison are playing in the backyard together, these two are so cute together. I love overhearing their conversations. Madison will call Andrew over to the fence and ask if she can come over and play and Andrew will say "hold on let me ask my mom." (Apparently, I've become mom when his friends are around, thank goodness I'm still mommy when we are alone!) When I tell Andrew she can come over if it's okay with her mom, you'd think I told the kid he were going to Disneyland. He starts yaying and yippeeing and runs to Madison and yells "MY MOM SAYS YOU CAN COME OVER!!!" This happens everytime she comes to play, which is about 2-3 times a week! LOL

Day 202

7.22.09 - Andrew got a new backpack for his new preschool! He was so excited about the backpack and has been wearing it non stop and putting all his toys in it. He looks like such a big boy in it!

Day 201

7.21.09 - Our first squash of the season!! Andrew could hardly wait to cut into and see what the inside looked like. We made a little casserole and it was yummy!!

Day 200

7.20.099 - Poor Andrew got stung by a wasp today at the park. It swelled up immediately but thankfully someone had some ice so it made it feel a lot better. It's his first sting ever, poor baby. He was a big boy though and just cried a little. He couldn't wait to show Daddy when we got home. :-)

Day 199

7.19.09 - Warm summer nights... Andrew had so much fun tonight playing in the backyard with Madison. Blake squirted them with the hose and they loved every minute of it. Soaking wet, belly laughs and big smiles. It doesn't get much better than that on a summer night.

Day 198

7.18.09 - MOVIE NIGHT!! Tonight we munched on popcorn and watched the Fantastic Four. A bit cheesy but lots of action, which Andrew loved.

Day 197

7.17.09 - My Dad is leaving the hospital! Yay! Yesterday was a rough day but it all got figured out and he is doing great. He couldn't get his clothes on fast enough when the Dr. said he'd put in the discharge orders. I don't blame him!

Day 196

7.16.09- I recently got a new computer and Andrew inherited my old one. He was so excited to have his own computer and while I was gone Blake set it all up for him. He loves to play games. It's amazing how much he knows about computers already at 4.

Day 195

7.15.09 - Dad had his heart procedure today (catheter ablation) . What a long, tiring, stressful day it was. The great news is his heart is back in rhythm and we hope that his energy returns. He seemed to be doing well after the procedure.

Day 194

7.14.09 - While I was away in California for my Dad all was well back here in Colorado. Andrew got his face painted at school and he played with Nana and Daddy all day. Batman with spiderwebs? Hmmm.. BatSpiderman. Thanks for taking a picture of the day!!

Day 193

7.13.09- Today my Dad had an appointment at Stanford to figure out why he has been feeling so tired the past several weeks. We found out his heart is out of rhythm and they have to do a procedure to correct the rhythm. I'm glad they have found a reason for his symptoms and there is something they can do for it. It's all a bit scary though when you are dealing with the heart.
I will be flying out to San Jose in the morning. The last time I was at Stanford was when he was first diagnosed 13 years ago. It's amazing how quickly time passes.

Day 192

7.12.09 - Nothing like taking photos of a newborn to brighten your day. Today I had a family/newborn session with the nicest family. They just welcomed little Mitchell into their family and big brother Matthew was so much fun to photograph. What a ham!
