Day 178

6.28.09 - What a wonderful summer day we had today! Andrew and I made homemade watermelon pops and went swimming. We had to leave the pool because it got too cold! It was 80 today but the clouds rolled in around 3 and looked like it was going to storm. So, we headed home ate our popsicles and watched Horton Hears a Who. :-)

Day 177

6.27.09 - Andrew and his neighbor friend swapped cars this morning. I love that he is in a pink barbie convertible, in a spiderman helmet and skull and crossbones tshirt. Rock on Andrew! When he saw this photo of him he didn't laugh at all like I thought he would. Nope. He said "Hey Mommy I want that pink car for my birthday." LOL Oh child...

Day 176

6.26.09 - My picture of the day today is pretty painted toes but it's on my point and shoot and I can't find the adaptor to get the photo of the camera... ugh! Anyway - today Amy and I had a girls night out. We got mani and pedi's, ate sushi and saw the movie the Hangover. Oh my gosh if you haven't seen that movie you have to. It is the funniest movie I have seen in a long time. I want to see it again!

6.25.09 - The new Transformers movie is finally here!! Andrew couldn't wait to see the new movie. He loved it! It was a bit long but he hung in there like a trooper.

Day 174

6.24.09 - Party!! We had so much getting together with all of our playgroup pals today. The kids painted, played with shaving cream, caught HUGE bubbles, played on the slip and slide and skirted each other with the hose. It was a perfect summer day!

6.23.09 - This is a cute little ribbon Andrew made at school for Blake for Father's Day. We didn't get it before Father's Day because we were camping. He also made him a card and cute little letter. (not sure what is up with the spelling of his name!)

6.22.09 - My coneflowers are blooming! The weather is getting warmer and we are getting lots of color in our yard.Yipee!

6.21.09 - Happy Father's Day! We had friends come over for a BBQ to celebrate Father's Day. It rained on Blake in the middle of bbqing but it all worked out in the end. The rain didn't last long (typical Colorado).

6.20.09 - We actually have a couch underneath all this folded laundry. We are so bad at letting it pile up and then it taking an hour to put it all away. Camping made it all the worst.

6.19.09 - Today we took a quick trip to Washington Park. I've been wanting to check it out for awhile to see if it would be a nice place to do a photo session. My boys went along for the ride and posed for a few pictures. Well, not sure you can really call it posing

Day 168

6.18.09 - Another fun day of camping. Today Andrew woke up super early and went fishing (to a cool dip in the water on accident.) We all went on a hike and explored. Came back and fished some more, found an ice cream shop (cool!) and then fished some more. We never caught anything but they boys had a fun time. We came home tonight instead of in the morning because we were all exhausted from not sleeping well and Andrew was getting a bit bored and needed a playmate. It will be great to go with another family next time.

Day 167

6.17.09- We left for camping today! As soon as we got the campsite set up we went fishing. Andrew could not wait to fish and I think it was as fun as he thought it was going to be because he never wanted to stop. We sat around the campfire and at smores and told spooky stories just like Andrew wanted. LOL Today was a great day and one I'll never forget.

6.16.09 - I don't think this kid could be more ready to go camping. He played with his new head lamp all day. It even has night vision! LOL

Day 165

6.15.09 - Another Tornado warning... they are becoming an everyday occcurence. This BIG storm blew over our house and looked like it had some rotation. My friend Jenny called me to warn me (she is from Kansas). You kind of stop and listen when someone from Kansas warns you! About 30 minutes later a huge tornado touched down in Elbert county just south of us. So scary. Luckily nobody was hurt just a few buildings. They say we are getting a break in this severe weather pattern in the next day or so. Finally!

Day 164

6.14.09 - So I have always had a hard time finding shoes to fit Andrew's wide feet. I'm so happy to say they are starting to thin out and he is only a wide now, not an extra wide. Hallelujah! We usually come away with one pair of shoes after shopping all day. We hit the jackpot today at the outlets and he has 4 new pairs of shoes!! I'm so excited (it's the little things.) The only shoes he had that still fit him were his Crocs.

My favorite shoes are hit little Keen sandals, just like Daddy's.

Day 163

6.12.09 - Andrew went to a Knight & Princess party today for his 4 year old buddy Leo. It was the cutest theme ever. The cake was a castle and so awesome. The girls came dressed as princesses and the boys were knighted when they arrived with a sword, knight hat and shield. There was a castle bounce house and a castle to color. Andrew had a blast and was wiped out on the drive home, always a good sign he had a fun time.

Day 162

6.12.09 - All of us are beyond excited to go camping this next week. So, Blake set up the tent in the basement so we aren't putting it together for the first time at the campground and find it's missing a piece. Andrew just kept saying over and over " This is so COOL!" He grabbed his sleeping bag and headed into the tent. He wanted to sleep there but we convinced him to just sleep on his bed in the sleeping bag. Too cute!

Day 161

6.11.09 - We had another tornado warning today. The storm stayed south and pushed out east of us so we were never too concerned. It's nice having the rain in the afternoon but these severe storms I could do without!

Day 160

6.10.09 - Andrew's preschool had a field trip to the zoo. What fun!! We saw so many fun animals. Peacocks ruffling their feather and polar bears playing with each other. Andrew had a great time going with all of his classmates. We even rode the train and the carousel and had a treat. Andrew's favorite thing to do right now. :-)

Day 159

6.9.09: I just had to document the continual weird weather we are having here in June. Fog? Really?? We have been about 10 degrees cooler on average. I'm not complaining!! The tornado I can do without. The cool weather, I'll keep it!

Day 158

6.8.09 - Meet Cleitus the Cottontail. Andrew named him. Big shock there, right? Lately Blake has been calling Andrew Cleitus as a joke so that is where he got it from.

Anyway, Cleitus is a baby bunny and is living in our front bushes. Everyday he comes out and nibbles on our grass. For now we are letting him stay. He's too cute to evict.

Day 157

6.7.09 - We had a tornado touch down about a mile from our house. It was unbelievable! We had golf ball sized hail and very strong winds. Pretty scary stuff for me and definitely for Andrew. It's the first time we actually had to sit in the basement bathroom during a tornado warning since we moved here. The mall near us had lots of damage, we had a broken window and a few torn up screens. Blake's truck was outside and has lots of hail damage and we believe our roof has hail damage. We are having an inspector come out in a couple days. Our neighbors was inspected and it has $15,000 worth of damage. Ugh..

6.6.09- Here is my big kid playing with all the little kids in the trampoline. We went to the Wassom's for dinner. Err.... a few drinks were involved. :-)

6.5.09 - Movie night at the Wilsons house! Blake is gone overnight so Andrew and I had a movie night with just the two of us. We watched Marley & Me and I balled like a lunatic. Andrew ended up consoling me. This is about how it went ...

Mommy: Boo hoo, crying (ugly cry I might add)
Andrew: Mommy, what's wrong? Is you feeling bad Mommy?
Mommy: No, Mommy is just sad from the movie, it's okay honey.
Andrew: Mommy, are you sure? Is you miss Daddy? Is that why you are sad?
Mommy: No, honey. It's just the movie. Mommy is okay.
Andrew: Mommy, are you still crying? Ahhh... Mommy don't cry, stop crying. It's okay.

My little sensitive guy is the best. Thankfully, he wasn't completely into the movie himself and didn't realize Marley was dying.

For the record.... we are NEVER getting a dog. Soooooooo sad.

Day 154

6.4.09 - My friend Michelle gave me the great idea to take a photo of your child on the first day of school and then again on the last day to see how much they've changed over the course of the school year. I really wish I had had Andrew stand for these so we could see how much taller he is. But, you can definitely tell he has thinned out even more. Especially in his face. He's getting so big and so grown up. It's killing me. I'm so thankful we have one more year of preschool. For awhile I was really looking forward to him going to school so I could have more time for myself but as it draws closer the more I want him to stay 4 forever.

6.3.09 - I had a quick mini shoot today with the Lee family. I had a session with them a few weeks ago but we really needed to get more family shots. It was sooooo cold but you'd never know by all of their faces. The kids were such troopers!

6.2.09 - I had my first newborn session today!! It was so much fun and such a great learning experience for me. Little Lucy was so alert and it took some coaxing and time to get her in a deep sleep. All the hard work was worth it though because I got some great shots of her.

6.1.09 - We have been having some awesome spring thunderstorms just about everyday. Before the storm hits or if it is just passing by in the distance we love to sit on the patio and watch how quickly the clouds move and form into HUGE thunderstorms. The sky in Colorado is absolutlely beautiful.

5.31.09 - Happy Birthday to me! I turned 35 today, wow! It sounds old but really it's not. I have so many blessings in my life and have had 35 wonderful years. Today, the men watched the kids at our house while all of the ladies went out to shop and dinner. I had so much fun with everyone and am so thankful to have such a great group of friends in my life.

5.30.09 - I love this photo of Andrew because it's so "him." He has such a great attitude and is always excited to be playing soccer. If he's not smiling running down the field then he is running towards you giving you a thumbs up because he kicked the ball. I believe this attitude will really get him far in life. (Spoken like a true Mommy.)

5.29.09- We spent all morning at the water fountains in a nearby outdoor shopping center. Andrew was a little apprehensive at first but by the end of our time there he was venturing farther and farther into the circle and getting wet. Always one to show caution and can't be talked into anything until he's ready. That's my boy!
